It was on this day, the Riot MMO former executive producer, Greg Street announced the Riot MMO over Twitter. Initially, Greg only mentioned he will be kicking off something big. After being questioned on Twitter, Greg confirmed it is indeed an MMORPG.
Only a couple of months later and Riot Games published an official recruiting page. This additional announcement spawned further excitement among fans. In general, the page stated they are making an MMORPG in the League universe and are hiring.
Well known Path of Exile streamer, Kanon uploaded an interview with the former executive producer Greg Street. On November 10, 2022 Kanon released the full Kanon x Greg Street interview. While the interview focused on Greg opinion’s on the genre, it unveiled a ton of insights for the Riot MMORPG.
Via Twitter Greg Street announced his departure from Riot Games. He explained online, after some hardships some of his family members endured his values were such he’d need to be nearby them. Unfortunately, many fans took news as the end of the MMO.
Prominent content creator, Necrit landed an interview with the Riot MMO team. Before this point, Necrit amassed substantial attention to Riot’s upcoming League MMORPG via YouTube. The interview was well-received among the community.

The Riot MMO will not be top down. It will be third person action combat. Through an official Riot Games job ad, we found it explicitly called for experience developing a 3rd person action combat game.
Furthermore, Riot Games is currently developing an isometric ARPG dubbed Project F. Of course the camera perspective and other aspects of the Riot MMO can change. Still, we find Riot Games developing an isometric game to be a detractor from the possibility that the Riot MMO would also be top down.
There has been no official word on the Riot MMO coming to consoles. Although there was a hint at the Riot MMO being developed with console and mobile in mind.
