Mammoths are elephantidae related mammals. They are massive mammalian herbivores from the Freljord. As such, they are prey to common predators.
Personality
Mammoths can be found on large herds. When approached by predators, mammoths will surround their young calves and pregnant cows. [3] The mammoth is extraordinarily fearsome while its protecting its herd. [4] Mammoths possess incredible power and strength in numbers. There are cases where mammoths become aggressive. Their trunks are strong enough to pick up adversaries with a tight grip. [3] Furthermore, Mammoth Shaman suggests during bouts of aggression, mammoths are capable of creating a stampedes and trampling. [3]
Appearance
As expected, mammoths are massive land animals. They sport large curves beige tusks on either side of their large trunk. Their eyes can be blue [2] or black and their thick fur is brown. They appear to be rough 8 times the size of an adult but this is unconfirmed. [1] Their ears dangle down and outward. [2]
Mammoths have been used to help transport large boats throughout the Freljord. The citizens equip large saddles on the mammoths with one flag bearer sitting atop the mammoth. [1]
Great Mammoth Spirit
In the Freljord, mammoth shamans call upon the great mammoth spirit. Through their spiritual practice, the shamans can invoke the mammoth spirit’s physical strength and strength in unity. Based on the Mammoth Shaman, the Great Mammoth Spirit may also provide wisdom alongside strength. [3]
The Mammoth Shaman from Legends of Runeterra has a number of voice lines in respect to power from the Great Mammoth Spirit and references to mammoths.
A krug is a stone creature animated by magic. Therefore, they could be classified as elementals. They would not be classified as Golems because they were not produced by the hand of humans. Interestingly, their appearance combines stone with the fauna from their environment.
There are a variety of krugs throughout Valoran. It is likely their difference in shape and design are the result of their environment.
Not much is known about the species. It is possible these creatures can live for a long time based on the Ancient Krug from League of Legends and Legends of Runeterra.
Personality
Krugs seem to gravitate to water. In addition, they build their nests on the water. [2] As well, their sound is described as a tiny chitter.
It appears they do not have consideration of the affect on the environment around them and how it may affect others. When Willump observed them atop the Stone Village known as Naljaäg, he perceived the krugs to be "more than at home living above a village, such as this one."
Also, this magical species seem to stick together. There are two instances where they've have grouped together. A number of krugs formed a dam over Naljaäg, plus the Ancient Krug monster camp unite as a pair.
It's likely they don't move often but when they do, they can traverse relatively fast. Their general state was described as 'still'[2] and the Ancient Krugs have been described a relatively quick [4]. Some Freljordian ones were spotted by Nunu and Willump atop a waterfall. Their dam blocked off the water flow to the village below. As Nunu and Willump spotted the Battle Krug, their movement was still. [2]
Appearance
Nunu describes these creatures as "stony crabs". [2] Indeed, they look like stone-like crabs. Their exterior is hard rock, lined with glowing blue or green light emanating beneath the cracks of the rock and their eyes. They have two hands and two legs, pincers and vary considerably in size and shape.
Subspecies
Ancient Krug
The Ancient Krug refers to the League of Legends neutral monster. The Legends of Runeterra flavor text states they move fast for a rock. Furthermore, killing your opponent's Ancient Krug card provided a Gift of Heavy Hands card. This is a direct reference to a removed buff (with the same name) from League of Legends called Gift of Heavy Hands after smiting the monster camp. [4]
It moves rather quickly, for a rock.
Legends of Runeterra
Battle Krug
The battle krug is from Freljord. They have green glowing eyes and accents instead of the traditional blue. [1]
“We were outsiders. Now they bow to us.“ – Aurok Glinthorn
The minotaur are a race within the Runeterra universe. In line with traditional fantasy, Runeterra minotaurs are hybrid creatures. Their upper body consists of bull features and lower body consists of human features.
Minotaurs are physically powerful. As such, they appear to gravitate to Noxxii environments.
According to Aurok Glinthorn, the Minotaurs have been subjugated for generations. Furthermore, they identified as outcasts. That was until Noxus conquered the lands and allowed the minotaurs of Runeterra to experience freedom. It is for this reasons the Minotaurs serve their allegiance to Noxus. [1]
Personality
In Runeterra, minotaurs are depicted as cold brutes with an aggressive demeanor. Their unsympathetic ethics prove useful when fighting in battle. They are clearly sentient and well aware of their intimidating presence.
I don't care who wronged you or what they did. You need me to make it right in the pit, you pay up front. There's no discount for sad stories. [1]
Minotaur Reckoner
Minotaurs in Noxus
Runeterra minotaurs are most often seen in the military capacity of Noxus. As such, they're seen wearing little armor but frightening and offensive type garments.
Military
After generations of slavery, Noxus has provided Minotaurs with the opportunity to flourish. As a result of this event and the natural strength of the minotaur, they now hold positions of power, such as General.
Reckoner's Arena
Minotaurs appear to gravitate to the Reckoner's Arenas in Runeterra. They are essentially gladiators fighting in the arena while a large crowd spectates the event.
In one case, we see the Minotaur Reckoner primitively accept money in order to defeat a foe in the arena.
Like many other fighters, the Minotaur Reckoner gets a rush of blood and a thrill from the crowd. Nonetheless, the dangerous conditions of the Reckoner arena leave much to be desired, even for the ruthless and powerful Minotaur. What keeps him going is the coin. Still not everyone pays on time, specifically, the Arena Bookie. [2]
Undead Minotaur
It is possible to use hemomancy (blood magic) to resurrect minotaurs in Runeterra. Next, after being 'fallen' and 'risen' they become a revenant. Minotaur Revenants have glowing red eyes and appear dramatically more aggressive.
Terminology
The Empire: Referring to the military division of Noxus. [1]
